Office 2021 and 2024 Professional Plus are one-time purchases for a single PC, with no subscription. Microsoft 365 renews yearly, runs across several devices, keeps gaining new features and includes 1 TB of OneDrive storage. Fixed versions on one machine favour the one-time buy; if you want the latest apps and cloud, 365 is the better fit.
Personal or Family
Microsoft 365 Personal is for a single user; Family shares the licence with up to six people, each with their own mailbox storage and OneDrive. For a household or small team, Family usually works out cheaper per person.
